Hello and welcome to my online gallery.

I  create unique graphite pencil portraits from photographs.  Although I  do traditional portraits, I especially enjoy working from photographs of full figures, in settings reflective of the subjects' personalities as my gallery examples illustrate.  I feel that these drawings better capture the character of the individual and create a lasting memory, not only of a loved one, but of a moment in time.

I  have been doing portraits of this nature for over 20 years.  Some of my past commissions have included sportsmen with their trophies, mothers with their children, wedding groups, calf-ropers in action, a group of children on a hay wagon, girls playing on the beach and a gentleman seated in an antique automobile, to name a few.  I take great pride in capturing the smallest details to produce a lasting and, hopefully, cherished piece of art.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Houston, as well as a teacher's certificate.  I live in new Ulm, Texas and divide my time between part-time work as a legal secretary and pursuing my art.
